Nahlia 3.5

Just a little something about what Nahlia has been up to, besides being a super great big sister. Basically still amazing us with her intelligence, humor, beauty, physical abilities and of course attitude. Its also fun to see her learn about the gospel and the little things she remembers and ask us about. Like "if we can go to Jesus's house" or one night I told her about the war in Heaven and she'll ask me "Who that guy that wanted Heavenly Fathers children?" Love and grateful for her Nursery leaders. Obviously she's still a handful but I love being her mom.
She started a sports class with the rec but like her ballet class she hasn't loved it as much as we hoped. The both were in the late afternoons when she's tired and sports outside in the heat and thunderstorms so not the best times but we. She got her first pair of basketball shorts that I hope she loves as much as I love mine. I had to get her new running shoes too that she takes very seriously. Whenever she has them on she runs 10xs faster, in her mind at least.
One of our first outings with Owen, ice cream out with Mimi. Loves sprinkles.
She still swims like a fish. If anyone is at the pool when she's there they comment on how well she swims. She had two swim suites this summer and she completely wore them out.

Some mom's in our ward started a rotating preschool that we get to be a part of. It started a perfect time, she gets to be with friends and learning and I get two hours to do whatever with one one kid. I hope she learns to right her name or at least say them in right order. Right now she's practicing her walk down the isle to the wedding march out to the patio. We love her so much. I can't believe she'll be four in a few more months.

Meeting GG and GBaby

GG and Gbay come to Las Vegas for Grandpa Thompson's birthday party. Jeanna and Matt were here as well, of course, so they got to met littl O too. It's always exciting to introduce your new baby to the people you love.
We went out to lunch and it was my first time nursing in public, Red Robin. Lucky we were in a both, it wasn't as wierd as I thought it would be. I wasn't talented enough to eat and nurse yet so I saved my lunch and eat when we got home.

That's a good cuddle.

Sweet Moments

Love having our little guy around.

Oh Boy

Poor thing got his circumcision today. Nathan came with me thank goodness. I was in for the how to take care of it talk. The doctor started getting ready for the procedure and brought in this tray with the outline of a baby and straps for both legs. When I saw it and said it was time for me to go. I was waiting outside the door listening to him cry. Shortly after the doctor came out and I asked if it was over and he said "I was just cleaning his belly button." Well that eased my nerves. Nathan said it was pretty hard to watch but Owen wasn't crying. Stuff like this always reminds me of that General Conference talk when the speaker asked the mothers if they would ever do anything to hurt their children. He's answer surprised a lot of people when he said "Of course you would." His point was that if it is in their best interest you would, like immunizations or saying no. Goodness it's still hard.

Later That Night

While showing off my little man to the rest of my family
over Skype this is what my other cuties were doing.

Going Home

We only stayed in the hospital for the required 24 hrs. I felt amazing and we wanted to get home to Nahlia. Plus the food wasn't very good and our TV broke. My over night nurse was wonderful. I slept so good because of her. She gave me everything the day nurse didn't. Stronger meds, ice pack pads, that spray stuff, and a hot pad for my cramps. Owen slept great that first night but that was short lived.

Happy to be home with Big Sis.

Meeting Big Sister

Nahlia was so excited to finally have the baby out of mommy's tummy. She loves little Owen so much and wants to help with everything. When she first saw him she said "He's so cute." Everything that's baby is so cute now.
Mimi took her to build a bear to pick out a present for the baby. It's a koala doctor.

After about 15 mins the excitement of the baby wore off and she said the hospital was boring.
